Lean Cuisine is on sale this week for $1.79! You definitely can't beat that price. I won't share with you just how many I bought - let's just say that all Lean Cuisine frozen dinners will be reviewed on this website. No matter how cheap a product is though, if it doesn't taste good - forget it! I'm not wasting one cent on it. Thankfully, Lean Cuisine doesn't have to worry about that. They hit a homer with their Roasted chicken with lemon pepper fettucini. This has "white meat chicken, vegetables and aged parmesan and romano cheeses." If you look at the package, everything is all mixed together, but when you actually get it, the fettucini is spearated from the chicken and the sauce. The package is really giving you a hint. After you microwave this meal, mix it all together.
On it's own, without the sauce, the fettuccini is very bland. But mix everything together and it's great. The pepper may just contribute to the overall flavor of the meal, but it is not spicy by any means. Throw out the old 'I don't like lemon pepper' (or is that just me?) because this is a well seasoned, sort of baked chicken sauce type (can you tell it's hard to describe?). It's like if you made baked chicken and mixed up your own sauce with water, garlic, onion, salt, lemon pepper, a little cornstarch to thicken it, my secret ingredient in any sauce/gravy - a dash of chicken bouillon, plus a few red and gren bell peppers, a little sugar, oil, cheese and a bit of spinach . Then heat that sauce to thicken it a bit and pour it over the chicken. Delicious! and that's what this sauce taste like, and those are the ingredients on the box.
It's very good nutritionally too, as you will get 250 calories, 6 g fat, 2 g saturated fat, a bit high in sodium with 670 mg, and 16 g protein. Let me add that you also get some Vitamin A and C, calcium and iron.
