Lean Cuisine Pork with Cherry Sauce
The roasted pork pieces were like juicy cubed chunks and the cherry sauce was sweet with just a mild taste of cherry. I was a bit skeptical about the whole cherry sauce deal. I have never had it before, but I must say it was definitely delicious. The pork was good on it's own, but tasted even better after dipping the pieces into the cherry sauce. Brown rice may be a bit of an acquired taste for some. Rice was a staple in my home when I was growing up in Jamaica but it was always white rice. Brown rice has a much more coarse taste, although not unpleasant - just different. The brown rice, green beans and yellow carrots were a very good combination of textures. The carrots and green beans were softer and evened out the slightly coarse texture of the brown rice.
Including vegetables and brown rice in this meal was of course a very good move in terms of increasing the nutritional density of this meal, which provides 260 calories, only 5 g total fat, 2 g saturated fat, 540 mg sodium, 4 g fiber, 12 g sugar, 15 g protein and 4 - 8% of the daily value of calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C and iron. At around $3.00 for this frozen entree, it is definitely great nutritionally and good on the taste too. Taste:
