Klondike Silm A Bear Chocolate Ice Cream Bar
Remember the ad, "What would you do for a Klondike bar?" Well, apparently there was a lot that people would do for that bar, because each one is 330 calories, 24 grams of fat and 20 grams of sugar. But now you can enjoy Klondike Slim-a-Bear (love the name!) with reduced fat and calorie, and no sugar added. The taste of course is divine and very similar to the original. The chocolate coating is crispy, melt in your mouth. Same thing with the Vanilla flavor
Nutritionally, 1 bar is 170 calories, 9 grams of fat, and 7 grams of saturated fat which means there is more than a third (37%) of the daily allowance of saturated fat in one bar. There are only 7 grams sugar since it seems that they replaced sugar with aspartame, plus 6 grams of sugar alcohol which they used in the chocolate coating.
The final verdict is that this bar is 'sinfully delicious' emphasis on the sinfully. It tastes great and they took out the sugar, but there is still too much saturated fat. You think they would make it hard on us to buy this product by making it expensive. Of course not! Instead, it only costs $2.50 for 6 bars.
* Update (2008) - looks like they have re-packaged these to be 136 calories, 2 grams of total fat and 14 grams of sugar.
