Red Bull Sugar Free Energy Drink

Red Bull If you have never heard of the energy drink 'Red Bull' here's a little tidbit from the website: Red Bull is supposed to 'improve performance, concentration and reaction speed, vigilance, emotional status and stimulate metabolism.' Sounds like a miracle to me! The original Red Bull has a 'tart' or 'limey' or you could say 'tangy' flavor, which I quite like. It almost tastes like wine cooler without the wine. It is not too sour and not sweet at all, even though it has 27 g sugar per can. Now they have made it sugar free with 0 g sugar which has also lowered the calorie content from 110 to only 10. The new sugar-free Red Bull tastes pretty similar to the original, but it does seem to be a bit more tart, and I still drank the entire bottle - every last drop.

But lets face facts. People don't drink Red Bull for the taste. It's more about trying to get increased performance and alertness. I tried it during a 2 hour drive from Atlanta to Auburn, AL when I was feeling pretty sleepy. Drinking Red Bull was like an instant shot of caffeine directly into your veins. I felt more alert at once, but with 80 mg of caffeine in the 8.3 oz can - who wouldn't feel like bouncing off the walls after drinking this. I might add that this is one of the reasons that men drink Red Bull - I think that's enough said - the saying, "If you don't know, better ask somebody!" applies here.

Red Bull also has 100% or greater of the B-vitamins plus the amino acid Taurine (the purpose of which I cannot imagine since I don't know of any cases of people who are deficient in this non-essential amino acid - meaning it is made by the body) and the sugar-free version uses the high intensity sweeteners acesulfame-K and aspartame. One can costs $2.50, so I would only drink Red Bull when I needed a little extra boost. May I suggest to the manufacturers that you get rid of the Taurine and lower the price, since I doubt anybody is thinking - 'Let's get some Taurine in our diet by drinking Red Bull.' Soda and coffee are way cheaper and have caffeine - but it's just not the same instant pick-me-upper like Red Bull. FYI, listed below is the caffeine content for a few beverages:

Mountain Dew (12 oz) 55 mg :: Diet Coke (12 oz) 45 mg :: Coke (12 oz) 64 mg :: Dr. Pepper (12 oz) 61 mg :: Pepsi (12 oz) 43 mg :: Coffee 80 mg - 150 mg

Tauroine actually helps your body to metobolise caffine, therefore, by adding taurine, it allows your body to absorb more of the caffine.

I'm still surprised that Red Bull remains so popular. It seems like there are so many better brands out there including Monster Lo Carb. How would you guys compare Monster Lo Carb vs Red Bull Sugar Free and Diet Rockstar?

I tried a regular Red Bull once a few years ago and swore to never do it again after the extreme caffeine rush I seemed to have experience. It actually made me freak out.... I was always afraid of energy drinks after this experience. My boyfriend recomended that I try "sugar free" red bull before the gym and I tried it. I absolutely loved it, the taste and absolutely the amount of energy and stimulation that it gives me. I now drink one every day sometimes in the morning or in the aftrenoon and always before the guy but I limit it to only one daily. It gives me great energy and allows me to consentrate better at work etc. I trully feel that it helps my food cravings and I lost about 6 lbs in a 3 week period. I have recomended it allot to my friends and family. YP

My husband and I also love the taste of Red Bull and the energy it gives us but my problem is the price. We each drink 2 a day and that alone costs us $300/month. Does anyone know where I can get coupons for Red Bull?

I find that the Rockstar energy drink has a very similar flavor to red bull, but you get more seeing that it's a 16 ounce can vs the smaller Red Bull can.

I drink a red bull every morning before work. I trully believe that red bull is essential for me...I am in sales and red bull gives me the energy and enthusiasm I need to be on top of my game. I only drink the sugar free and may I add that it really does speed the metabolism up. I have not lost alot of weight (partly because I dont work out regularly and eat some junk food) but I have lost a few pounds while not changing any daily habits...except for drinking my red bull in the morning. It really gets me up and going!!

PS It is expensive, though.

I drink one every day, keeps me alert and focused.

Red Bull is awesome, I recently started drinking it before I work out and now I am able to go all out and get a good hardcore work out in. Its funny, because the first time I had Red Bull I hated it, but now I love it. Im a college student and its absolutely perfect for those long nights studying or those crazy nights partyin like a rockstar. My fridge is full of them and I would highly recommend that everyone start drinking Red Bull so they can wake up, concentrate, and stay ontop of their game no matter what it may be.

I was at one time on a strong, addictive, controlled medication prescribed by my doctor for energy which gave me the energy that I needed to function in just everyday activities. Then my ibsurance company stopped supplying the coverage for it because it was so expensive and mt doctor told me to try the different energy drinks to see which one would help me. I did as I was told and after trying several, I finally tried the Red Bull. I now drink it on a daily basis but it is expensive. I am constantly searching the web for coupons but there are not any. I'm thinking that this is or should be the #1 energy drink and help us just a little by with some coupons so that we can stay supplied with what works. You have the best and that's a blessing within itself so help us for helping you.
Much love.

yeah, like stated above, try BJ's. it will save you in the long run. even though it's sugar free you probably shouldn't drink it every day, or become depended on it. use it for that boost for a good run, or any type of cardio, or weight training, and by doing that you will have by far a lot more energy! atleast give it three weeks, i'm telling u it works!

Before you go to the gym take two advil and drink 2 sugar free red bulls and you can run forever. The only thing that sucks is they way you feel a couple of hours later but you just burned a lot of calories. If you feel like crap later take a xanax.

Some people actually form a chemical dependence on taurine, it also a much stronger stimulant than caffine thats what wakes you up. My body is no longer affected but caffine at all so i need taurine in my energy drinks.

I like redbull sugar free as well. I used to drink it twice a day. It is expensive and like another poster mentioned...try BJ's or Costco or something. Also...theres another drink called Liquid Lightning. Just like redbull...cherry flavored and half the price. Good stuff. Sugar free available as well.

I'm a college student, and work at 6 in the morning during the week. Needless to say, by wednesday, its kind of difficult to stay awake. I'd love to try red bull, or any energy drink, but i dont like carbonation. So i was curious if there were any non-carbonated energy drinks out there, and if so, where to get them.

Hey Shelly,
I give out free samples of my energy drinks and my other products as well. They are extremely good. I do have noncarbonated drinks. Call me at the number I posted two comments above yours (866-803-7406) and leave your contact number I would love to meet you and help you as well. As for Red Bull, I work in a hospital and it is sending people to the hospital with heart palpitations, it's even a warning on the news. It is also being banned in different countries. If you value your life, don't damage your heart. Be careful what you put into your body. And remember, if you don't take care of yourself, you won't be able to work or take care of anyone else. Have a great day.

I recently contacted Red Bull and inquired about coupons....the response I received was coupons give you paper cuts...I didn't laugh at all. If I didn't love their product I would have gone off but I simply replied that you have so many faithfuls out there and it would be nice to show apperciation to your consumers by sending out a few coupons here or there. A $1.00 off for example but no response. During the winter games they did produce coupons on their website & that was the last I ever seen of the dream pieces of paper! :) I just tried the SugarFree and I was shocked at how good it tastes. The price however sugar or no sugar is still the same. So buy in bulk-never single cans. Wal-Wart sells 4-packs @ 5.88 on a daily basis and $19 for half a case so not too bad. If you go into the bigger warehouse shopping stores (Sams, Costco etc.) then you get a better deal as well. Have a great day
