Dole Reduced Sugar Fruit Bowls
I never noticed this little snack before but apparently, it has been out since 2000. When I saw it, I thought, "interesting concept". This is basically fruit pieces suspended in jello or rather a 'gel'. I tried the pears in kiwi-berry gel, and I must tell you, it was amazing - should I be corny and say it was 'fruitalicious'
? I am officially hooked. There was plenty of fruit in the bowl and having it with the gel tasted better, in my opinion, than just having the fruit pieces alone - I liked the different textures.
Nutritionally, this product stacks up very well. It is only 60 calories, 70 mg of sodium, 13 g of sugar and you can also get 40% of the daily requirement of vitamin C. The regular fruit in a gel bowl (not reduced sugar) is 90 calories, 90 mg of sodium, and 22 g of sugar. Overall, I would say that this reduced sugar fruit in a gel bowl deserves 5 stars and two thumbs up. It tastes great, and provides a nice variation on the old standards.
