Wrigley's Eclipse Cherry Chill Sugarfree Gum

popcorn Can gum be bad? What could possibly be the criteria used to review gum? Well, you have the "bubble blow-a-bility" and then there is the "length of freshness" and the "how many pieces do you need to chew to make it worthwhile." So you see, a lot can go into reviewing chewing gum! With that in mind, the best thing about Eclipse Cherry Chill was the fact that you got a pleasant cooling sensation when you first put this gum in your mouth. This is a side effect of using sugar alcohols instead of sugar. The worst thing about this gum is the fact that chewing one piece is not really enough. You need two pieces to blow a really nice bubble.

Cherry Chill also had some texture to it with some little bits of "something unrecognizable" in the gum. I personally found this to be highly annoying. I don't like chewing gum that feels 'rough' in my mouth. One time when I was chewing it, it lasted a few hours. Another time I was through after about 15 minutes, so I'm guessing that the length of time that I perceive the gum to be fresh is directly related to my mood, so I'm not going to comment on that aspect.

Nutritionally, there isn't much to tell. It's gum! 5 calories for 2 pieces with 2 g of sugar alcohols. A little side note on the package says, " 35% fewer calories than sugared gum, calorie content has been reduced from 8 to 5 calories." So we saved a whopping 3 calories! Overall, this gum is okay. Could have been better, could have been worse.
