Hunts SnackPack Sugar Free Gel Snacks
What exactly is a gel snack? Well, Jell-O is a brand name, and so it can't be called that exactly, but that is what it is. The impressive thing is that this product only has 5 calories, so not bad for a snack. But it really doesn't have anything else, no vitamins - no nutrients at all. It was very tasty and sweet - almost too sweet I'd say. For about $1.00, I wouldn't mind buying this as a little snack to take with me during the days.
This product notably does not contain gelatin, which is usually what is used to make gels in food products. Unfortunately, for some, gelatin comes from animals (their ligaments and tendons), thus vegetarians avoid products made using gelatin. This product, however, uses natural gums such as carrageenan and xanthan to achieve a similar 'gel' effect.

I am eating my very first one right now and I am glad to say it does not have that nasty sugar-free Jell-o aftertaste. The ingredients say it has sucralose in it and I do believe that is Splenda. I don't think it is too sweet, but that is such a personal taste!
I'm also having my first one, the cherry jel, given to me by a relative who is trying sugar-free foods because of alleged ADHD in one of her kids. Of course there's really no problem with the kid.
For me, the jel snack's got the typical aftertaste of any of the colored (pink, yellow, blue) substitutes, and I don't like it. I would rather have Stevia in any "sugar-free" product I use. Thankfully, I am not diabetic yet, but I DO KNOW that it's either sugar, honey, or Stevia in my house. Lab chemicals be gone !
