WestSoy Soy Smoothie

smoothie This 'smoothie' was really more like a slightly thickened juice. In fact, it wasn't even thick enough to really be called a smoothie. I tried the Banana Berry flavor. First I looked at the nutrition label - 140 g per 8 oz serving and 22 g of sugar. Not really very good - same as other juices. Then I looked at the ingredients list - everything was 100% natural. The sugar came from dehydrated cane juice. Then I tasted it. Well, let me say I had a friend over at the time, and we were having lunch. We both tried it. At first I thought it was horrible. Then I took another taste and it wasn't so bad. I finished the glass. He tried it, took one sip and that was it. He hated it. It was definitely too sweet. They could have used a lot less of that 'dehydrated cane juice' and that would have cut down on some of those calories too. I think it could be an acquired taste, but at 140 calories per cup, I don't really think this qualifies as a 'diet' or 'healthy' drink. I would rather have a glass of juice.
