Weekly Healthy Meals & Menu Plan. Gear up for the Holidays

Thanksgiving is next week, so this pre-Thanksgiving menu is designed to load up on the veggies and grains, as well as take advantage of the abundance of squash in the supermarket by adding it to a few recipes.

Breakfast: Mon - Fri: You know I don't vary breakfast much during the week - and since I had cereal all last week, it's back to oatmeal this week. I'll never get tired of my Oatmeal + Chia Goodness Cranberry Ginger Cereal combination.

Sat: Voskos yogurt + organic raisins + 1 slice of Arnold's Whole Wheat Bread.
Sun: Veggie Garden Scrambled Eggs.

Weekly Healthy Meal & Menu Plan Pre-Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and I'm on a mission to eat well and not over indulge except maybe a little on Thanksgiving Day. The inspiration for this week's menu plan came from Cooking Light and Eating Clean magazines (Nov. '09 issues)

Breakfast: Mon - Fri: After having Oatmeal all last week, I'm switching to cereal. There's a box of Fiber One Cereal with Honey Clusters with my name on it, which I mix with Blue Diamond Almond Milk (usually).

Sat: De Wafelbakkers Buckwheat Berry Pancakes with Flaxseed.
Sun: Garden Scrambled Eggs.

Weekly Healthy Meal & Menu Plan for the Start of the Holiday Season

November and December seem to be the most challenging time to maintain a healthy diet. Halloween, Thanksgiving AND Christmas - it's not easy to get through. That said, it all starts with a plan. Lots of veggies this week to counteract that god-awful Halloween candy that might mysteriously make it's way into my tummy.

Breakfast: Mon - Fri: Quaker (Old Fashioned) Oatmeal - as you can see, I don't mix it up a lot during the week, except maybe by changing the toppings. I make mine on the stove-top with half water and half Blue Diamond Almond Milk (usually).

Sat: Spinach Omelet - my favorite kind.
Sun: Pancakes (using Quaker Oatmeal Pancake Mix) & Jennie-O Extra Lean Turkey Bacon.
