Breyers Love Fruit

Breyers Love FruitBreyers Love Fruit is a fruity ice cream bar - the product of a marriage between a thin fruity coating on the outside, and a light vanilla ice cream on the inside. I tried the Tropical Fruit variety, which has peach puree, passion fruit juice, mango puree and pineapple juice. The product is totally delicious with an intense sweet fruity taste coupled with a very creamy and rich tasting ice cream center - both merged together to give the ultimate pleasure that can be derived from an ice cream bar.

This is a big hunk of a creamy bar at 3 ounces - similar in size to Weight Watchers Giant Chocolate Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bar (that's 4 ounces). Breyers Love Fruit is 110 calories, while the Weight Watchers Giant Bar is 130 calories - save 20 calories by eating the Breyers bar instead (unless you are feeling in the mood for chocolate), because although it's a little smaller, it still seemed like a satisfying snack.

The Original Brand Sugar Free Popsicle

The Original Brand Sugar Free PopsicleThe Original Brand Sugar Free Popsicle is sugar free, fat free (of course) and only 15 calories per 51 gram popsicle - which is a bit on the small size. I tried the box with the Orange, Cherry and Grape flavors, and all 3 were the same with only a slight variation in flavor. At first I was really pleased with the taste. The popsicles were sweet but with a slight tartness a the end. But then the aftertaste hit. It's like a slight leftover sweetness in my mouth - I've tasted this before in products that use artificial sweeteners. Usually a few sips of water will get rid of it - and this is an inconvenience, but if you're on a diet, then this might be a small price to pay for a low calorie treat.

There is a sharp bite at the end, which might be citric acid, or might be an effect from the artificial sweeteners.

Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom Strawberry Lites Ice Cream Bar

Blue Bunny Ice Cream Bar Blue Bunny says, "Our creamy strawberry, light ice cream sweetened with Splenda comes dipped in a rich chocolate coating for a taste that's big on flavor yet lower in calories." I say, this ice cream bar tastes okay. The flavor I chose to try was Strawberry Lites and I got only a very faint hint of any strawberry flavor at all. If I hadn't read the description on the box, I would have thought that this was vanilla.

You can immediately tell it's not as sweet as regular ice cream bars, but it's still sweet enough. They are promoting the fact that they use Splenda as the sweetener, but sugar alcohols (4 grams in each bar) are also used. There is also a slight aftertaste, which is not really bitter, but more like an unpleasant intense concentration of sweet compounds that's left over on the back part of your tongue. I had to drink some fluids after eating this ice cream bar to get rid of the 'left over taste.'

Blue Bunny Orange Dream Bar

Blue Bunny Orange Dream Bar If you're wondering what a Blue Bunny's 'dream bar' is, it's "Vanilla flavored reduced fat ice cream bar coated with orange sherbet." Sounds yummy doesn't it . And it is!The orange sherbet, which is like the popsicle part on the outside, is delicious with a fruity orange flavor that really shines through. The middle is all lovely, smooth, creamy, rich vanilla ice cream made from reduced fat milk to keep the calories low.

Slim Fast Chocolate Fudge Bar

Slim Fast Chocolate Fudge Bar Oh wow! This was sinfully good and I can't believe it is made from Slim Fast. It's chocolaty, it's smooth and rich tasting and these bars never get hard so it melts really easily in your mouth. I think the secret to the taste is that they use real cocoa in this. An added bonus - you can't help but look sexy eating this. The price is around $3.00 for 6 bars, which is a little high but judging from the taste alone, I would still get it.

Tropicana Swirls Vanilla IceCream Sorbet

tropicana swirl sorbet This is like vanilla ice cream on a stick or actually, "reduced fat, no sugar added vanilla ice cream on a stick." Somehow, it doesn't sound as enticing when you say it like that. Still, those swirls look really pretty on the box, and I was excited to try it. I wasn't disappointed at all, since this sorbet was umm-ummm-licious yummy I must say, this was my first sorbet experience and it was creamy, and as sweet as you expected it to be. My one complaint is that it tended to get ice crystals formed on the outside of the bar but this didn't really detract from the taste, and was just mildly annoying.
