Minute Maid Enhanced Pomegranate Blueberry Juice
Minute Maid has a line of Enhanced Juices which includes Heartwise Orange Juice which aids in reducing cholesterol (read our glowing review), MultiVitamin and Active Orange Juices plus the new Pomegranate Blueberry Juice which has omega-3 fatty acids/ DHA to "Help nourish your brain."
This juice tastes just sweet with no tartness and it doesn't really taste like pomegranate juice. In fact, the taste reminds me a lot of TrueBlue Blue Berry Juice. Minute Maid says that this a 100% juice blend, but don't get excited or fooled into thinking this is 100% pomegranate and blueberry juice. Instead the ingredients - in order from most to least - are apple, grape and pomegranate juices from concentrate, fruit and vegetables juices (for color), blueberry juice from concentrate, natural flavors, raspberry juice from concentrate ... DHA algal oil, added vitamins.

Heirloom Farms Pomegranate Blueberry Juice is au natural, 100% juice, no sugar added, no preservatives or artificial stuff inside it. This juice was totally tasty - sweet, tangy, natural goodness. The benefit of these 2 juices is that they are high in anti-oxidants, which I like to think of as powerful super heroes fighting for good health and fighting the effects of aging. The ingredients in this Heirloom Farm Juice are simply pomegranate juice, blueberry juice (both from concentrates) and natural flavors.
Lakewood Organic Pomegranate with Blueberry Juice

Lakewood Organic Pomegranate with Blueberry is organic and provides 2 of the 5 recommended servings of fruits that you should have daily. Another plus is that the ingredients are organic pomegranate, blueberry, cherry, apple etc. - note that the 2 fruits that actually make up the name of this juice, pomegranate and blueberry, are actually the first 2 ingredients. That is a big deal because food companies love to mix in that cheap apple juice in higher proportions than one or more of the ingredients that they are actually promoting.
But as many positives as I have just listed, notice that taste is not one of them. While it tastes - okay - it is simply sweet without any other characteristic flavor. There is none of the tartness from the pomegranate. Lakewood Organic Heart Healthy Pomegranate with Cranberry is one of my favorite pomegranate juices [read the review], but unfortunately the mixture of pomegranate with blueberry just doesn't live up to it's cranberry cousin.

Lakewood Organic makes just about every juice you can think of - without preservatives or additives. I am an avid cranberry juice drinker, but now I am going to be an avid Pomegranate with Cranberry Juice drinker, because, let's face it, you taste one 100% pomegranate juice beverage, you've tasted them all. BUT I adore the combination of pomegranate with cranberry juice because you get the benefits of the antioxidants from BOTH juices as well as the beneficial effects of cranberry juice in helping to prevent urinary tract infections. The taste is also great with the sweet taste of the pomegranate but a distinct tartness from the cranberry juice. Love it!
One thing to note is that the juices in this (in order of weight) are pomegranate, APPLE, cranberry, grape, cherry and acerola cherry. The juice is also enriched with aloe vera and grapeseed. Growing up in the tropics, aloe vera was a cure all for all ailments, so I'm glad to see it being put to use on a more widespread basis.

If you haven't heard about antioxidants being good for your health, you are probably living without television, radio and an internet connection. Pomegranate juice seems to be one of the most popular sources with the brand POM Wonderful leading the charge [read the review]. I think it's probably due to the sexy bottle shape - but that's just my own personal belief. Unfortunately, POM is almost $4.00 for a 16 ounce bottle, and that pretty much prices me out of the market. But POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice is not the only pomegranate juice in town. Sure it has a cute design, but it is very expensive and alternatives must be found! Enter, Purely Juice Pomegranate Juice. It's 100% pomegranate juice (from concentrate) and tastes pretty darn good. It's sweet with a hint of tartness - actually, it taste identical to POM and I suspect, to most other 100% pomegranate juices.
Arizona Pomegranate Green Tea
AriZona is quite the innovator when it comes to non-carbonated bevergaes. Arizona Pomegranate Green Tea harnesses the antioxidant power from pomegranate and green tea, both of which are good sources. It has a refreshing taste, which is not very sweet and with a slight tartness and taste of pomegranate.
The Pomegranate Green tea is not a 'diet' drink so they are no artificial sweeteners in it. Instead they use a combination of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and honey - 18 grams of sugars per 8 ounce servings and the bottles are either 16 or 20 ounce, which means there are 36 or 45 grams of sugar per bottle. That's a lot - like 10 teaspoons of sugar! There is also 70 calories per serving - which means 140 to 175 calories per bottle.

Pomegranate juice is now one of the more touted healthy drinks because of its naturally good levels of antioxidants, and POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice is all juice baby! 100% au natural. It tastes similar to grape juice, with a hint of tartness, almost a subtle aftertaste. And it is SWEET! I mean - there are 34 grams of sugar in half a bottle i.e. 68 grams in an entire 16 ounce bottle or close to 17 teaspoons of sugar! So, it may be all natural, but, other than the antioxidants, the only other thing you are getting is sugar and calories - 320 in a bottle. AND, it is expensive. One 16 ounce bottle is almost $4.00!
But I still like this Pom Wonderful. I think however that instead of drinking ot by itself, I would add it to my homemade smoothies, or maybe juice some fruits and add it to it - or even just add water to dilute it a bit.
