Kellogg's Low Fat Granola with Raisins MultiGrain Cereal
Kellogg's Low Fat Granola with Raisins Multi-Grain Cereal is made with whole oats and whole grain wheat, molasses, raisins and almonds. The Kellogg's granola is very sweet, crunchy and has a strong taste of cinnamon. As a cereal it doesn't get soggy easily in milk, but I think I prefer to mix it with yogurt rather than eat it as a cereal because it is so sweet. In fact, it was the perfect addition to the vanilla Yoplait YoPlus Yogurt that I was eating

Kashi Mountain Medley Granola
Kashi Mountain Medley Granola gets an A++ when it comes to taste - absolutely scrumptious! It's made primarily from a "Kashi Seven Whole Grains & Sesame Blend", evaporated cane juice syrup, cranberries and raisins - real big tasty ones (the ingredients label doesn't say that, but it should), raisins, roasted sunflower seeds, almonds and pecans etc. Kashi has got this "good taste" thing down to a science, because I couldn't stop eating this - as cereal, by itself as a snack and in yogurt. What makes Kashi Mountain Medley stand out is that it's not as hard as your typical granola, and you can taste the generous amount of raisins and cranberries make in every bite.
While the taste is outstanding, I have to take off some points for all the calories - 220 calories in 1/2 cup! That's 440 calories per cup, compared to 270 calories in Health Valley Granola.

Diet Trash is about the food products you might eat because you think you're doing something better for your diet, but you'll be surprised to know, they're not.
Bear Naked is a very popular all Natural Granola. I picked up the Blueberry Walnut variety after hearing many people rave about Bit, but when I took a look at the nutrition facts, I did a double take. One 1/4 cup serving has 130 calories! A 1/4 cup is really nothing more than a handful. Compare this to Health Valley Granola which is also made with all natural (and organic) ingredients and has 180-190 calories in a 2/3 cup serving. That's 270 calories per cup compared to 520 calories in Bear Naked.
Granola is not really a great product for dieters anyway because they are usually very calorie dense, but if you're on a diet, try choosing one with as few calories as possible (which wouldn't be Bear Naked). Health Valley Granola
For some unknown reason, Granola has been associated with being good for dieters. Perhaps it's the connection with hippies and health nuts, so this breakfast cereal has to be good for you, right? Not always. Traditionally, it's made with plenty of oil and nuts, granola contains a lot of calorie dense ingredients. As a result, many of the varieties available in today's supermarkets are high-fat and high-calorie, with upwards of 200 calories for a mere 1/2 cup.
But there's hope. Health Valley Granola offers up a better alternative. Their granola is slightly lower in calories, but it's also made with organic and natural ingredients, so you don't get any partially hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup that are often included in supermarket granolas. There are three varieties, ranging from the traditional to the more exotic: Raisin Cinnamon, Tropical Fruit, and my favorite, Date Almond. As expected, the chief ingredient is oats, but there are also some small crispy bits, similar in texture to Rice Krispies. I eat this as cereal, but to slash calories even more, I prefer to sprinkle it into yogurt or on top of smoothies to make a delicious low fat and low cal treat.
