Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte
Fall is here! Do you want to know how I know that? No, it's not because my calendar told me so. It's because Edy's Pumpkin Frozen Dairy Dessert and Celestial Seasonings Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride Tea are back on the shelves! Plus, the talented Starbucks baristas are already whipping up the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte.

To get the most bang for your nutritional buck, specialize your drink as a Tall Nonfat Pumpkin Spice Latte with no Whipped Cream. In this respect, your comforting fall treat will contain 200 calories, no fat but still 37 grams of sugar (ouch!), 11 grams of protein and 40% of the daily value forcalcium. Here's the trick to reducing the sugar and calories a little more ... special order. Since Starbucks has yet to offer a sugar free version of their seasonal latte, ask for half of the pumps of that sugary pumpkin syrup (I promise you won't miss it).

Coffee - it's what's for breakfast ... and for a mid-morning snack, mid-afternoon pick me up, and post-dinner treat. People drink so much coffee that I sometimes wonder whether they would save time by just inserting a coffee IV (kidding, of course)! I'll admit, I too enjoy this warm, infinitely modifiable beverage, sometimes with milk and other times with cinnamon and Splenda.
I often find myself at Starbucks indulging in the Starbucks Power Protein Plate, Perfect Oatmeal, or Breakfast Sandwich, and I like to have something warm to go with my meal. I find Starbucks coffee to have a bitter, burned taste, which is why I switched to the Starbucks Caffe Americano. Freshly brewed with each order, this drink is a simple combination of espresso and hot water (it's not as strange as it sounds - after all, coffee has a lot of water in it as well). The taste is smooth and rich without being too overpowering. Plus, if you want it stronger, you can order an extra shot, and if you want it weaker, just order it in a cup one size bigger and get it with extra water.

Ever since I started my coffee habit - at the stunt-my-growth age of ten - I've never been a black coffee drinker. Some consider it a sacrilege, but I love my cream and sugar in a cup of joe. I've always bought a variety of different flavors of non-dairy creamers to keep it interesting, but lately, I've been wanting to find something a little more diet-friendly.
Coffee-mate offers Sugar-free and Fat-free varieties in several of their flavors, and their Original flavor comes in regular, Low fat, and Fat free editions. Having had fairly poor luck with fat free products thus far, I decided to give the Low fat Original Creamer a try (not to mention the fact that the Low fat and Fat-free creamers contain the same amount of calories anyway).
I measured out two tablespoons into my twelve ounce mug, along with a packet of Splenda, as again, the original is not sweet. One sip told me all I had hoped for - the creamer adds body and a creamy flavor, and erases that bitter edge that I personally find distasteful. Another added bonus is that since this is non-dairy, I could reheat it a bit when it got cold without worry of it curdling.

I am not a big coffee drinker. I love the smell, but don't really like the taste. I find it always lacking something, even when I try to dazzle it up with sweetener or soy milk, etc. But still, I decided to give Teeccino Caffeine Free Herbal Coffee a try, since it's not really "coffee". Tauted as "America's best selling coffee substitute" this "coffee" is roasted and ground to brew and taste just like coffee, without the caffeine and acidity of regular coffee. This company offers many flavors, but I decided on the Chocolate Mint since I'm a sucker for anything sweet.
The taste turned out to be superb! The chocolate/ mint/ coffee combo was perfect. I added a little sweetener and almond milk to my drink which made it taste rich, creamy, and super satisfying. Another way I used this was to add some of the grinds to a chocolate smoothie I make almost nightly. It enhanced the flavor and gave it a good nutritional boost too

General Foods International On the Go Cafe Mocha (Sugar Free)
Hi. My name is Tanya, and I think I might be addicted to coffee. I know I'm supposed to say I AM addicted - but I'm not quite there yet. In the past few months, I have cut down drastically, but then I had to go purchase General Foods International On the Go Cafe Mocha. I was attracted to packaging and since it's supposed to be sugar free, I thought I would write a review. Little did I know that this would end up being the delicious delight that it was - see it's even causing me to use alliterations in my writing. Luckily this is not strictly "coffee" - more of a coffee beverage - so it doesn't count ... right?!
At first flance, it doesn't look like anything special just brown powder. I heated some water in my fancy-schmancy electric kettle (very 21st century), and then proceeded to add water to the mug. The first sign that General Foods put a lot of thought into this beverage was the sizzling... shhh sound that I heard when the water hit the cafe mocha powder, giving off that coffee shop vibe (how very 21st century of General Foods). One sip was enough to send me searching for a blanket, a good movie and a comfy spot on the couch to vegetate in. Something about this coffee made me want to get comfortable and enjoy every sip. The flavors are well balanced between light coffee taste and slightly sweet - very good especially for a packaged food product and not something made by a barista. And this is perfect for people who are not heavy coffee drinkers.
