Hain PureSnax Carrot Chips
Chips are coming in all different colors and flavors these days. It's easy to stick with the tried and true potato chips, but if you're looking for healthier alternatives, it's time to branch out. With this in mind, Hain's Carrot Chips seems promising. The taste was 'okay" - or should I say a little better than average. They taste (and look) nothing like potato chips. These orange chips are much more 'hardy' than potato chips - crunchy but not as crispy. The first ingredient is stone ground corn, and for those of you who have had corn chips before (like Frito-Lay Corn Chips) you'll recognize that these chips tend to be thicker than potato chips. The next ingredients are carrot juice, vegetable oil and dehydrated carrots, so there is definitely a carrot flavor to the chips. There are bits of (what I'm assuming are) dehydrated carrots in the chips, and these little pieces tend to get stuck/left over in the teeth - kind of like 'the gift that keeps on giving' since you'll be doing the tongue flick/removal action up to 30 minutes later.
