South Beach Living Fiber Fit Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies

South Beach Living Fiber Fit Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies

South Beach Living Fiber Fit Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies come in pre-portioned 100 calorie snack packs, and while I am not a big fan of this snack size (who says snack are supposed to be 100 calories?), I was impressed that they managed to pack 20% of the daily recommendations of fiber into each serving, so I was excited to try it.

When I opened the pack and emptied the contents onto a plate, 6 cookies fell out. They were 6 deliciously sweet and chocolatey cookies, but certainly not enough for a snack by itself. The name says "double chocolate" but it didn't taste any extra chocolatey to me. I also didn't really experience any chocolate chunks - but then again, these were just a little bit bigger than a quarter, and not very thick, so it's hard to distinguish any ingredients. A good use for this, might be coupled with tea (may I suggest Celestial Seasonings Original Indian Spice TeaHouse Chai), or crumbled over some low fat yogurt like Dannon Light n Fit 0% Plus Strawberry Yogurt, and since you wouldn't need more than 2 or 3, it would certainly make this pack last longer.

South Beach Living Snack Pack Delights Dark Chocolate Covered Soynuts

South Beach Living Snack Pack Delights Dark Chocolate Covered Soynuts I was in the grocery store in California picking up some staples when I saw South Beach Living Snack Pack Delights Dark Chocolate Covered Soynuts sitting inconspicuously on the shelf. No sooner had I spotted it than it found its way into my basket as I'm a big fan of South Beach Living products (their nutrition bars and frozen meals are pretty good).

As you might expect from 100 calorie pouches of chocolate and nuts, these packs are small; each contains a 2/3 ounce serving of the snack. Size aside, this snack is fantastic. The dark chocolate is smooth and flavorful, and the nuts are crunchy and pair perfectly with the chocolate.

South Beach Diet Caprese Style Chicken with Broccoli

South Beach Diet foods has a winner on their hands with the Caprese Style Chicken with Broccoli which has "chicken breast strips in a marinara sauce with ricotta and mozzarella cheese served with broccoli." This is one of my favorite South Beach Diet frozen meals - but I have only tried that South Beach Diet Cashew Chicken with Sugar Snap Peas and the South Beach Diet Chicken Penne. Since South Beach Diet foods tend to cost around $3.50, which is more than the other brands, I found that the other two were ordinary and not worth the extra price. The Caprese Style Chicken however is well worth it.

The sauce is excellent. It doesn't have a very strong marinara /tomato based taste to it, in fact, if I hadn't read the description, I wouldn't have thought that it was - but it is definitely good! I was dipping the broccoli in it - is how good it was. And the broccoli came out tasting fresh, still firm and not too soft and squishy - which is the way I like it - well, not that I can say I really like broccoli, but I ate every last piece in this meal. I had the Caprese chicken for dinner and I was satisfied with the size. There is quite a bit of chicken and even more broccoli!

South Beach Diet High Protein Cereal Bars: Cranberry Almond

South Beach Diet Cereal Bars I'll just get right to the point here, the South Beach Cranberry Almond Bar tastes great and deserves 5 stars all around. It's crispy and the cranberries provide a nice contrast, not your typical protein bar. There was obviously lots of cranberry pieces throughout the bar, but not so obvious were the almond chunks, probably because they are the same color as the bar itself.

Nutritionally this bar will give you 140 calories, so treat it like a big part of breakfast, or as a snack by itself. You also get 5 grams of fat with 2 grams from saturated fat (10% of your daily requirement), no trans fat, only 135 mg sodium (about 5% of the daily value), 115 mg potassium, 3 grams of dietary fiber (12% of the RDA), 7 grams of sugar along with 3 g sugar alcohol and 10 grams of protein. There is also 10 - 20% of 10 vitamins and minerals.
