Sparkling Essence. A new 0-calorie beverage from R.W. Knudsen Family. This is a combination of sparkling spring water infused with the finest organic ingredients. Flavors are Organic Lemon, Organic Cucumber, Organic Blueberry and Organic Mint. Look for it in June.

Muscle Mints. This got me curious.

Combining two types of carbohydrate, whey protein isolate, and several electrolytes in a chewable mint, it is the first product of its kind. Available in two flavors: Mega Mint and Tropical Storm (pineapple/coconut). The mints are packed in a convenient-to-carry tin with a hinged lid and contain 4 servings of 8 mints each (32 mints). Athletes of all ages have given the new product a thumbs-up and are calling it a "sports drink you can chew. Consumed before and during exercise, the mints have a ratio of protein to carbohydrates of 1 to 2.6.

Clif Quench Sports Drink. This "sports drink" is made with mostly organic ingredients (88%), and provides 45 calories & 10 grams of sugars per 8 ounce serving. I'm not sure what makes this a "sports drink" - maybe it's the sugar, because the only ingredients are Filtered Water, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Natural Flavors, Real Salt, Citric Acid, Magnesium Lactate, Potassium Phosphate. There are 4 flavors, Fruit Punch, Lime Aid, Orange & Strawberry Citrus.

Sara Lee Deli. New lower sodium sliced-to-order deli meats, with flavors including Oven Roasted Turkey Breast, Honey Ham, Oven Roasted Chicken Breast, and Roast Beef. Due in stores in spring 2009.

• Oven Roasted Turkey Breast - 40& less sodium than USDA data for oven roasted turkey breast.
• Honey Ham (water added) - 36% less sodium than comparable USDA data.
• Oven Roasted Chicken Breast - 42 percent less sodium than comparable USDA.
