I have gotten off track in terms of my eating habits so I decided to challenge myself for May to focus on eating better, incorporate more fruits and vegetables and lose a few pounds in the process. What better way to hold myself accountable than to share this journey with all of Iateapie.net readers! Breakfast. Multigrain Cheerios (1 cup with about 1/3 rd cup Rice Dream Vanilla Hazelnut Rice 'Milk'). It's funny that I wrote the review of Multigrain Cheerios back in 2005, and it's still TRUE. This cereal doesn't have much flavor - especially when I was just drinking it with plain Blue Diamond Almond Milk. But, I had 2 coupons and it ended up costing about $1.00, so I bought it. With the Hazelnut Almond Rice Milk (review coming soon) - the cereal tastes a little sweeter and more flavorful (Photo Credit: box of lettuce/ Flickr). Morning Snack: Nature's Path Organic Optimum Energy Bar (Orange Chocolate) - actually only 1/2 the bar. I got this bar on sale (at Hannaford Supermarket) for $0.50 this morning - I stopped at the supermarket after the gym and that's where I saw 2 of 'em. I started eating one in the car, and it was pretty good - sweet though, and honestly, I'm not a big fan of very sweet foods - the review will be coming soon. Lunch: 1/3rd tuna fish sandwich - on white bread. I know I know - white bread! I'm being honest though. Because the boy had errands to run and wanted me to tag along. I had no time to eat, so this was the remainder of his sandwich. He packed a huge container of grapes and took it in the car, so I ended up having 30 grapes! Yes - I counted each and every last one. But the good news is, according to Calorie King, 10 grapes is 34 calories, so my 30 grapes is just shy of 100 calories. Real Lunch: Turkey sandwich on white bread with Honey Mustard with 1 serving of Doritos and Water. I'm keeping it real people - more white bread! Dinner. Low fat Blueberry muffin from Panera Bread and Coffee - about 16 ounces total. I had this after I got done teaching at about 7:30 PM. It's a 1 hour drive home and I was too hungry! Late Snack/ Dinner: An apple & water. I should add that I drank at least 12 ounces of water with every meal - including snacks. It's HOT now in NY. Clearly, there is MUCH room for improvements in the vegetable department! Now, I'm relaxing with my favorite guilty pleasure, Real Housewives of NY. Bloggy Giveaways. LifeLoveViolin is having a fantastic giveaway of P.B. Loco Premium All-Natural Jungle Banana Flavored Peanut Butter and several of her favorite nutrition bars including Larabar, PURE, Luna, NuGo and Raw Revolution brands.
