IateApie.net provides reviews of food products
with diet & nutritional claims such as low fat, low carb, reduced sugar,
less sodium and whole grain.
Every Friday it's New Product Notes time. These are the new food products with a nutritional claim that are launching or due to be launched very soon, and that go into my line-up of products I want to review here on Iateapie.net. Yo-Plus. This General Mills brand is debuting a new superfruit flavor this month, Blueberry Acai. Each 4 ounce container has 110 calories, 4 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber and 16 grams of sugar (sweetened with sugar - no artificial sweeteners or HFCS). Yo-plus got thumbs up in our review.
There are also 3 new superfruit flavors of Yoplait Original, Cherry Pomegranate, Blackberry Pomegranate and Blueberry Acai. All are 99%% fat free, but since it's not Yoplait Light, they have more calories than the ones we normally feature. Each 6 ounce container has around 180 calories and 27 grams of sugar. Yoplait Light also recently introduced 2 new flavors, Cinnamon Roll and Cherry Cobbler as we mentioned in New Product Notes. And, here's more good news about Yoplait yogurts from General Mills. They have announced that Yoplait Yogurt Products will be 100% free of milk from cows treated with rBST (aka BGH) by August 2009. rBST is a synthetic hormone used by many commercial dairies to increase milk production. It has been banned in some countries, such as Canada, which eschew the use of synthetic hormones in their food supply, but the USDA has stood behind it's safety. Bigelow Teas. There are 2 new limited edition flavors just in time for Valentine's White Chocolate Kisses is a black tea, whereas Sweetheart Cinnamon is a herbal tea blended with aromatic cinnamon and a note of apple.
