Lean Cuisine says the Chicken Enchilada Suiza this is "a chicken enchilada suiza with a sour cream sauce and Mexican-style rice." An enchilada, according to the Wiki definition, is a corn tortilla rolled around a filling and covered with a chili pepper sauce. The filling can be made from a variety of ingredients, including meat, cheese, beans, potatoes, vegetables, seafood or combinations. The 'Suiza' variation (meaning Swiss), is an adjective that indicates the dish is topped with a white, milk or cream-based sauce, such as bechamel.
I thought this meal was okay and a little on the bland side - not something I would buy again. Still, it looks very similar to what's pictured on the box. Actually, even when it comes out of the microwave, it looks more delicious than it really is. Aside from the bland taste (although the sauce was not too bad), the preparation time is another reason why I wouldn't bother with this again - 9 minutes at 50% power in a microwave ... before this, I had never even attempted to adjust the power settings. If it's a microwave meal, I want it in and out in 5 minutes or less. Reviews (less than flattering) can be found at HeatEatReview and DrGorumet. Making your own isn't too difficult. There is a super easy recipe over at Delish Food. Just be sure to use low calorie wraps like LaTortilla Factory Whole Wheat Low Carb Low fat Tortillas or FlatOut Multi Grain Wrap. It looks pretty tasty and similar to the box, but you're right. Nine minutes is too long for a boxed entree. I could make myself a huge salad in that time!
