I thought that all hell had broken loose last week with the recall of products containing peanut butter manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America - found to be tainted with Salmonella. But I hadn't seen anything yet! This week, there have been more than 50 products recalled by companies which all use PCA as their supplier. Larabars, Clif Bars, ice cream - even dog food. The FDA has a list of all the products recalled - I suggest you go there pronto! Good thing I don't like peanut butter.

Other than that, food news on the healthy & diet front was pretty slow. Dominos and Subway are engaged in a cat-fight over Dominoes advertising the fact that their 'oven baked sandwiches' beat Subways 2 to 1 in a taste test. Subways sent Dominoes a Cease and Desist letter. Dominoes not only burned it - but also made a tv commercial with their CEO burning it.

Well Subway, it's the Web 2.0 era. Learn from Obama's destruction of McCain and get in the internet age. Make a viral video simulating the heart attack and/or stroke one may suffer after a weekly feast on Dominos Italian Oven Baked Sandwich with it's 880 calories, 110% of the daily value for saturated fat and 107% of the DV for sodium [more nutrition facts]. Just a suggestion.

We have a few new products we're looking forward to trying - okay, so we already tried one of them and even showed you what the South Beach Fiber Fit Cookies 100 calorie pack of cookies really look like.

This past week was Hot Stuff Review Week, with a new review everyday. The top rated were Celestial Seasonings Sugar Plum Spice Holiday Tea, which got our 5 kiss rating, and Pacific Natural Foods Creamy Roasted Carrot Soup, which got 4.5 - a wee bit too much sodium. Plus we showed you a low calorie breakfast option of Oatmeal, a VitaTop and fruit for 250 calories which I thought it was pretty damn filling.

Next week is "What's For Dinner" Review Week - and I just found a VERY popular healthy frozen dinner brand has a new look - so new it's not even on their website yet. So stay tuned!
